Sly Cooper series playthrough
these games were fun as heck, holy moly!! i'll sum my thoughts up game by game
overall, Sly 1 was not what i thought it would be, but it was a really fun game nonetheless!
i expected it to be a game about sneaking around and stealing things, but what i got instead was an action platformer somewhere between Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon.
it caught me by surprise, but i liked it! it was a cool mix of beat-em-up gameplay in linear levels with thiefy heist scenarios, backed by a phenominal cast of cartoon animals with killer voice acting!
i think some of the level choices were very odd, and the difficulty spike near the end (particularly the final boss) were a little much
but i would say if i grew up with it, i probably would have been a furry as a kid. 8/10
now THIS game was what i thought i was getting into with this series!
compared to the linear levels of the first game, this was a proper open world, mission-based thieving game!
adding more characters to play as aside from Sly was a nice way to break up the gameplay a little, but i think a lot of the non-Sly missions felt pretty gimmicky.
still, the cast of characters and the world in general were excellent vibes that carried the game for me!
by the end i was a little exhausted, but i still had a really good time with the game! 9/10
this was more of the same of Sly 2, but with more varied gameplay, which is exactly what i wanted!
i think the choice of adding more characters to the gang to cover gimmicky gameplay styles was pretty neat
there were definitely levels i was not a fan of, like anything of Penelope's and the stinky panda
but honestly i was perfectly satisfied with this game! i loved the levels and the interactions between the growing cast
it left me wanting more Sly by the end, so i think i gotta play sly 4 sometime soon. 8/10
